It’s that time of the year, Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, etc. Always nice those Easter eggs … but they can cause nasty stains! Chocolate stains are stubborn stains. This is how you remove chocolate stains:
- Do not use soap
The chocolate stains got fixated if you treat them with soap and then it becomes almost impossible to remove them yet. Do not do it!
- Milk dissolves the stain
Here is an old trick. Pour milk over the stain, let it absorb and then wash it as usual in the washing machine.
- Put white spirit on it
If milk doesn’t help and it involves large stains, you can use something stronger: white spirit. Put it on a rag and gently rub the stain. Rinse it with soapy water. This can be done for example on colored linen or cotton or wool and silk.
- Bleach the spot
If you have stains on white cotton clothing you can also try diluted bleach.
